Delaware is where most US startups, venture funds and public companies are incorporated, so it is the first registry to check on a US counterparty. The Division lists at most 50 matches per search, so a broad name is best narrowed with more words, or matched exactly.

- Where does this information come from?
- From the Delaware Division of Corporations, the state office that keeps the registry of every entity formed or registered in Delaware. Croma queries it live for each search and returns the answer structured, free and with no account. There is a cap on searches per hour from the same connection, and the Division itself lists at most 50 matches.
- Why do I get exactly 50 results?
- The Division caps every search at 50 matches and does not page beyond them. When that happens the result is flagged as cut at 50; add words to the name, or switch on exact name if you know it in full.
- Does it show whether the company is in good standing?
- No. The free record shows the file number, name, formation date, kind, type, residency, state and registered agent. Status, franchise tax and filing history are paid services of the Division and are not part of this search.
- Can I search by officer or owner?
- Not in Delaware. The Division publishes no officer, director or member names, only the registered agent, so the search is by entity name alone. For Florida entities the Sunbiz search does reach officers and agents.
