Foreign trade company by company

Every year DIAN publishes two directories: the importers and the exporters of goods. Each ranks the companies that traded that year by value, with their NIT and legal name, the CIF value of their imports or the FOB value of their exports in US dollars, net weight, number of declarations and the five tariff codes they moved most. Every year of both directories since 2017 is here in one search: filter by year, by imports or exports, and by a 4-digit heading, a 6-digit HS subheading or a full 10-digit Colombian tariff code. Use it to size a sector, find suppliers and buyers with real foreign trade activity, or check what a counterparty claims.

Common questions

From the importers and exporters directories that DIAN, Colombia's tax and customs authority, publishes from import and export declarations. Croma organizes every year into one search, checks for updates every week and returns it structured, free and without an account.

To protect personal data, DIAN publishes individuals (personas naturales) without their ID number or name. Those rows keep their figures and rank, but cannot be found by NIT or by name.

They are two ways of valuing a shipment. Imports are valued CIF, which includes the cost of the goods, insurance and freight to Colombia. Exports are valued FOB, the value of the goods loaded on board at the port of departure. That is why a company's import and export values are not directly comparable.

Because the current year's directory is cumulative: DIAN updates it as months close, and the cut-off month says how far the figures run. Closed years cover January to December, and DIAN revises them too, so a year's figures can change.
