The registered debts from largest to smallest

The Procuradoria-Geral da Fazenda Nacional (PGFN) is the body that registers and collects the Dívida Ativa da União: what companies owe Brazil's federal government in federal taxes, social security (previdência) contributions and FGTS and did not pay on time. This search covers companies only and returns one row per debt, from largest to smallest amount: registration number, CNPJ and root, debtor name, whether it answers as principal debtor, co-responsible or jointly liable, state, responsible and registering unit, collecting entity, status (in collection, with a tax benefit, guaranteed, suspended by court decision or in negotiation), revenue type, registration date, whether it is in court and reference month. Use it to size a counterparty's tax liabilities or find debtors by state and amount. Croma answers from the dataset it keeps up to date with the full source, refreshed with each quarterly publication.

Common questions

From the Procuradoria-Geral da Fazenda Nacional (PGFN), which registers and collects the Dívida Ativa da União. Croma answers from the dataset it keeps up to date with the full source, refreshed with each quarterly publication, and the as_of field says which date the data corresponds to.

Yes, it is free and needs no account. There is only a cap on searches per hour from the same connection to prevent abuse, and each page returns up to 50 debts. For volume, use the Croma API.

In collection is an enforceable debt the PGFN is collecting through administrative or judicial channels. With a tax benefit has an installment plan or another benefit in force. Guaranteed has an accepted guarantee. Suspended by court decision is not enforced while the decision stands. In negotiation is in a settlement with the PGFN. The status field carries the exact description from the source.

Because the PGFN has no debt registered under that name or CNPJ in the publication indicated in as_of, or because the filters exclude it. It is a definitive answer, not an error. Enter the CNPJ as 14 digits with no dots or slashes, or use the 8-character root to see every establishment; the search covers companies only, not individuals.
