The integrity registers of Brazil's federal government

The Controladoria-Geral da União (CGU) maintains Brazil's federal integrity registers: CEIS, for companies and individuals declared ineligible or suspended from contracting with the State; CNEP, for companies sanctioned under the anti-corruption law; CEAF, for dismissed public servants; CEPIM, for non-profit entities barred from receiving federal funds; and leniency agreements. Each result is one sanction with the party and its document (CPFs come masked), the register, the type of sanction, the start, end and publication dates, the sanctioning body with its state and sphere, the legal basis, the case number, the fine when there is one and the reason. It is the integrity check a bank, a contracting party or a compliance team runs before onboarding a company or person in Brazil. Yes, it is free and needs no account. There is only a cap on searches per hour from the same connection to prevent abuse, and each page returns up to 50 sanctions. For volume, use the Croma API.

That no CGU register holds a sanction under that name or document as of the date in as_of. It is a definitive answer, not an error. Check that the CNPJ has 14 digits with no dots or slashes; if you are searching by name, try fewer words, because the text is matched against every name the register holds for the party.

CEIS gathers the companies and individuals declared ineligible or suspended from contracting with the public administration. CNEP records the companies sanctioned under the anti-corruption law. CEAF lists dismissed federal public servants. CEPIM lists the non-profit entities barred from receiving federal funds. Leniency agreements are a separate register. Each sanction names its own in the list field.
