Connecticut liens searchable by the parties in them

The search covers the UCC and lien filings the Connecticut Secretary of the State records: financing statements that secure a loan or a lease on a debtor's assets, and municipal, federal tax, labor, vessel and judgment liens. It holds every lien in force, and every one that lapsed, was released or was terminated within the last year, about 437,000 in all. Each result carries the lien number, the status, the lien type, the first and latest filing dates, the lapse date, every filing number, and the names of every debtor and secured party across its filings. Croma also works out whether the lien is still in force. Open a lien for each filing, its parties and its document.

Common questions

From the Connecticut Secretary of the State, which publishes its UCC and lien records for anyone to use. Croma keeps an organized copy, brings it up to date every day, and returns it structured, free and with no account. There is only a cap on searches per hour from the same connection.

The UCC and lien filings on record with the Secretary of the State that are in force, plus those that lapsed, were released or were terminated within the last year. Older ended liens drop out of the record. Liens recorded only in town land records are not part of it.

Status is what the register says: active, released or terminated. A financing statement also lapses on its lapse date unless it is continued, and the register can still call it active after that. In force is Croma's reading of both: active and not past its lapse date.

Yes. Debtors include individuals as well as businesses, as the filings list them. Type the first and last name; every word must appear. The same name can belong to different people, so check the address on each filing.
