SUNARP vehicle lookup

Who owns this vehicle?

Enter a Peruvian plate and see what SUNARP's vehicle registry holds on it: its characteristics, its status, its current owners and the partida it is registered under. Free, no sign-up.

Peruvian plate, 4 to 10 characters. With or without a hyphen (ABC-123 or ABC123).

The vehicle's record at SUNARP

SUNARP (Superintendencia Nacional de los Registros Públicos) keeps Peru's vehicle registry. This lookup returns what that registry holds on a vehicle from its plate: the make, the model, the model year, the color, the engine number, the serial number and the VIN; the plate in force and the previous one, if it changed; the status, for example EN CIRCULACION; the annotations summary SUNARP shows for the plate; and the theft alert when there is one. It also returns the current owners, named as SUNARP writes them (surnames, given names), and the registry office with the vehicle's partida number. Use it to check a used car before buying it, confirm who is on record as the owner, or verify that the engine and VIN match the papers. The history of transfers and liens lives in the partida, not in this lookup.

Common questions

No. In this lookup SUNARP shows only each current owner's name, as surnames, given names. It does not show their DNI or the date they acquired the vehicle.

The lookup returns the annotations summary SUNARP shows for the plate and the theft alert, but not the detail of each act. The history of transfers, liens and seizures with their dates is in the vehicle's partida, whose number is in the result.

That SUNARP has a theft alert on record for that plate. If one appears, hold off on any purchase until the situation is cleared with the police and with SUNARP. When there is no alert, the field is empty.

Yes, it is free and needs no account. There is only a cap on lookups per hour from one connection to prevent abuse, and it checks one plate at a time. To check a fleet or a batch of vehicles, use the Croma API.
