What disciplinary records are
The Procuraduría General de la Nación is the oversight body that supervises the conduct of public servants and of private individuals who exercise public functions. Its ordinary record certificate reports the current disciplinary sanctions and disqualifications that the authorities have registered in its information system.
Croma queries disciplinary records by document number and returns the result of the ordinary certificate: sanctions, disqualifications and their validity, useful for hiring, counterparty verification and due diligence.
How fresh the data is
Croma queries the Procuraduría live at the moment of your search. Sanctions and disqualifications appear as the authorities report them and the entity registers them in its system.
Coverage and limits
- The ordinary certificate reports current sanctions and disqualifications; entries already served or extinguished may not appear in it.
- It covers disciplinary liability; criminal and fiscal records are kept by other entities.
- Most private individuals appear with no entries: disciplinary sanctions mostly apply to those who exercise or have exercised public functions or contracted with the state.

Frequently asked questions
- 01What is the difference between the ordinary and the special certificate?
- The ordinary one reports current sanctions and disqualifications and is the one in general use. The special one, issued by the Procuraduría itself for certain procedures, includes additional entries.
- 02Does appearing with no records mean there were never sanctions?
- It means there are no current sanctions or disqualifications registered. A sanction already served may not show in the ordinary certificate.
- 03Does the lookup replace the Procuraduría's certificate?
- No. The official certificate is generated by the Procuraduría; Croma's lookup is informational and returns what the entity publishes.
