What it shows

The holder behind the card number

The lookup checks a foreigner card number (carné de extranjería) against the registry of Peru's Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores (RREE) and returns the holder's details: last names, first names, date of birth, nationality, immigration status and the card's expiry date. When no card matches the number, the response says so and the remaining fields come back empty: there are no partial or fuzzy matches. This is the check run when onboarding a foreign customer, signing a lease or an employment contract, and in know-your-customer processes, because it confirms three things at once: that the number exists, that it belongs to the person presenting it, and that the document is still valid.

  • Nationality and status
The holder's country of origin and the immigration status they are registered under.
  • Validity
Card number and expiry date, so you can tell whether it is still valid today.
FAQ

Common questions

01Which number do I enter?
The foreigner card number: exactly 8 digits, digits only, no hyphens, spaces or letters (for example 12345678). If yours is shorter, pad it with leading zeros until it reaches eight.
02The card does not come back. Why?
Because no card matches that number exactly. Check the eight digits and that no zeros are missing or added. A Peruvian DNI or a passport is not looked up here: this registry covers foreigner cards held by the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores.
03Does it replace the physical card or an official certificate?
No. It is an informational check to confirm the details and the validity quickly. For an official procedure you need the document itself or the certificate the relevant authority issues.
04Is it free? Are there any limits?
Yes, it is free and needs no account. There is only a cap on lookups per hour from the same connection to prevent abuse, and one card per lookup. For volume, use the Croma API.
