Have an idea for making government data actually useful? The Croma AI Hackathon, GOV-TECH edition, is an online build session running from August 12 until August 16 at 6:30 p.m. Croma makes public-sector data far easier to work with through an API and MCP, so instead of fighting for access you can focus on building something smart, useful, and original.
The rules#
- Teams of 1 to 5 people.
- Use whatever stack you like: there are no tool restrictions. The only condition is that your solution includes Croma, through the API or MCP.
- Submissions close on August 16 at 6:30 p.m. Submit your project through the submission form.
What your submission includes#
RequiredTeam members. Explicitly list everyone on the team, each with the email they registered with on Luma, plus a WhatsApp number we can reach the team on. That is what we will use to contact the winning team.RequiredOne-minute video. This is your chance to sell the problem you are tackling and how you are solving it. The minute is yours: spend it all on the problem and the solution, or include a demo too.RecommendedProduct link. Not required, but it helps: if your solution is deployed, share the link so we can try it.OptionalPitch deck and repository. If they strengthen your submission, include your pitch deck and your code repository. Make sure the repository is public.
What we judge#

We are looking for high-impact solutions: projects that turn public data into something people can actually use.
The prize#
One winner. They take home 300 dollars in cash and 6 months of Croma free to keep developing their product after the event.

Why we are doing this#
Croma's mission is to be the infrastructure that makes data accessible in a simple way, and through that, to open opportunities for new products in the region. The data already exists: decades of judicial, corporate, and regulatory records that describe how Latin America works. What is missing are the people who turn them into products that change how the region decides, lends, and builds.
