- 01Where does the text of the law come from?
- From Legalize, which consolidates Colombian legislation as structured data. Croma queries that source and returns the law structured, with its official source reference included in the result. It is an informational lookup: for legal purposes check the official publication.
- 02Is it free? Are there any limits?
- Yes, it is free and needs no account. There is only a cap on lookups per hour from the same connection to prevent abuse, and one law per lookup. For volume, use the Croma API.
- 03Where do I find a law's identifier?
- In the Colombian laws search tool: type the topic or the name of the law, for example habeas data, then copy the identifier from the result (in the LEY-1266-2008 format) and paste it here.
- 04Why does the lookup come back empty?
- Because no record matches that identifier exactly. The field is case sensitive, so enter it exactly as it appears in the search, with the type, number and year. If it still does not appear, the law is not in the source yet.
