Have an idea for making government data actually useful? The Croma AI Hackathon, GOV-TECH edition, starts today: an online build session running from today until August 16 at 6:30 p.m. Croma makes public-sector data far easier to work with through an API and MCP, so instead of fighting for access you can focus on building something smart, useful, and original.

The rules#
- Teams of 1 to 5 people.
- Use whatever stack you like: there are no tool restrictions. The only condition is that your solution includes Croma, through the API or MCP.
- Submissions close on August 16 at 6:30 p.m. We will share the submission form that same day in the community WhatsApp channel.
What we judge#
| Criterion | The question it answers |
|---|---|
| Originality | Is this an idea nobody else brought? |
| Use of Croma | How central is the platform to the solution? |
| Impact and production readiness | Does it solve a real problem, and how close is it to real use? |
We are looking for high-impact solutions: projects that turn public data into something people can actually use.
The prize#
One winner. They take home 300 dollars in cash and 6 months of Croma free to keep developing their product after the event.
Ideas to get you started#
- A due diligence agent that cross-references RUES, Supersociedades, and judicial records.
- A SECOP contract tracker.
- AI-powered verification and analysis over Registraduría, RUNT, and Policía Nacional.
- An agent that proactively alerts you to new laws and circulars in Mexico, via DOF and Banxico.
If you want to see the sources in action before writing code, browse the sources, try the tools, or ask the live chat directly.
Why we are doing this#
Croma's mission is to be the infrastructure that makes data accessible in a simple way, and through that, to open opportunities for new products in the region. The data already exists: decades of judicial, corporate, and regulatory records that describe how Latin America works. What is missing are the people who turn them into products that change how the region decides, lends, and builds.
This hackathon exists to find those people. If you have been waiting for a good excuse to turn public data into something people can actually use, this is your shot. Join online, move fast, experiment freely, and launch an idea that can go far.
