Taxpayer lookupOne field, DNI or RUC

Paste a number of 8 or 11 digits: eight is read as a DNI and eleven as a RUC, and either way you get the taxpayer record exactly as SUNAT holds it. Free, no login.

Digits only: 8 for a DNI, 11 for a RUC.

What it shows

One input for two keys

This lookup exists for mixed lists. When you have a column of identification numbers and cannot tell which are DNIs and which are RUCs, there is no need to split it: eight digits are read as a DNI and eleven as a RUC, and either way the response is the same SUNAT record, with registered name, trade name, taxpayer type, registration and activity start dates, taxpayer status, domicile condition, tax address, CIIU economic activities, authorized vouchers and special registries. If the document is a foreigner card, a passport or a diplomatic card, the lookup by document is the right one; if all you have is a name, the search by registered name is.

FAQ

Common questions

01When do I use this instead of the other lookups?
Use it when you have a loose number and cannot tell whether it is a DNI or a RUC, or when you are working through a list that mixes both. If you know it is a RUC, the RUC lookup is more direct. For a foreigner card or a passport, use the lookup by document; for a name only, the search by registered name.
02Does it accept a foreigner card or a passport?
No. This field takes digits only: 8 for a DNI and 11 for a RUC. Documents with letters, such as a carné de extranjería or a passport, go through the lookup by document, which lets you choose the type.
03What if the DNI has no RUC?
The response comes back marked as not found and the remaining fields are empty. It means that person is not registered for tax purposes: it does not say the DNI is invalid or that the person does not exist. Verifying identity needs other sources.
04Is it free? Are there any limits?
Yes, free and no account needed. There is only a cap on lookups per hour from the same connection, and one number per lookup. To clean up whole customer or supplier books, the Croma API does the same in batches.
