## Common questions

### Do I need to know how to code?

No. With the connector you ask Claude or ChatGPT in plain language and they query the source. The API is for your technology team, when it wants to automate.

### How do I add Croma to Claude or ChatGPT?

From the console's MCP page: one connector, sign in with OAuth, and every source is available in the chat. Cursor and any other MCP client work the same way.

### How do I make my first request?

Create an organization in the console, generate an API key and send it as a bearer header on a POST to any endpoint. The quickstart in the docs has a copy-and-run curl.

### Which sources and countries do you cover?

Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Brazil and the United States: courts, company registries, tax, vehicles, background checks, public procurement and gazettes. Every source page lists what it returns and how fresh it is.

### What if I need a source you do not have yet?

Tell us which one. We add sources every week and the changelog announces them; a public source with a clear lookup usually ships fast.

### Can I run many lookups at once?

Yes. Batch lookups take up to 50 items per request and each one answers on its own, so a mistyped one does not spoil the rest. It is the basis for monitoring a portfolio of cases, counterparties or suppliers.

### Is the data official, and can I rely on it for compliance?

Every answer comes from the official source and names it. Croma does not keep the documents you query or the responses, only billing and operational metadata, and callbacks are signed.

### How current is the data?

There are two kinds of lookup. Live lookups go to the source at request time. Datasets are a complete copy Croma keeps up to date on its own schedule, and every response carries `as_of`, the moment the data is current to.

### What happens if the official source is down?

It depends on the lookup. Datasets do not depend on the source at that moment, so they keep working. A live lookup returns an error and you retry later; we never make up the answer.

### What does it cost?

Every plan includes monthly credits: Free 5,000, Hobby 20,000 for $20, Standard 100,000 for $99. A live lookup spends 10 credits and a dataset lookup 1. Above Standard, volume is priced by contract.

### Can I change plans or cancel whenever I want?

Yes. Upgrades apply immediately and charge only the difference for the days left in the cycle. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the period, without losing what you paid.
