# Croma for Government: free for the public sector

## What changes

Starting today, Croma is free for people who work in the public sector, in every country. Sign up on the [console](https://platform.usecroma.com/sign-up) with your government email and your organization moves to the Government plan on its own: 100,000 credits a month, no card and no cost.

## Why

People in the public sector do work that matters. They contract, investigate, regulate, oversee and answer to citizens, often with fewer tools than that work deserves. The records Croma organizes are created by public institutions and belong to the public, so we think it is only fair that the people who keep them and use them to serve can query them without paying.

## What is included

| | Government plan |
| --- | --- |
| Price | Free, no card |
| Credits a month | 100,000 |
| Live lookups | Up to 10,000 |
| Dataset requests | Up to 100,000 |
| Catalog | Every official source and every endpoint |
| Claude and ChatGPT | The full [MCP connector](/mcp) |

A live lookup costs 10 credits and a dataset request costs 1, the same as on the paid plans, and any mix works. The balance resets every month. If your agency needs more, write to [hi@usecroma.com](mailto:hi@usecroma.com).

## How to get it

1. Sign up at [platform.usecroma.com](https://platform.usecroma.com/sign-up) with your government email.
2. Verify your email.
3. If the domain belongs to a government, the organization moves to the Government plan without you doing anything else.

Emails ending in `.gov`, `.gov.<country>` (such as `.gov.co` or `.gov.br`), `.gob.<country>` (such as `.gob.mx`, `.gob.pe`, `.gob.cl`, `.gob.ar`, `.gob.sv` or `.gob.bo`), `.gub.uy`, `.gouv.fr`, `.go.jp` and `.mil` qualify. University emails (`.edu`) do not qualify for now.

If your agency is public but does not use a government domain, write to [hi@usecroma.com](mailto:hi@usecroma.com) from your work email and we will turn the plan on by hand.

Every detail and the common questions are on [Croma for Government](/government), and the other plans are on [the pricing page](/pricing).
