# How to connect Croma to ChatGPT

Everyone is using ChatGPT for their day to day. Documents, emails, presentations and automations.

But ChatGPT can be much better. By default it only connects to your tools and to the internet. It has no access to government data, like company registries, court dockets, sanctions lists or what a company reports to the SEC.

Those are the same records a lawyer, an investor, a finance professional or a compliance officer needs every day.

Today we show you how to connect Croma to ChatGPT and give it access to more than 200 connections with government data.

## What Croma is

Croma is the connector between ChatGPT and government data. You connect it and ChatGPT gets access to more than 80 official sources across six countries. The United States, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru and El Salvador. Companies, court dockets, sanctions, public procurement, financial statements and laws, all of them [here](/mcp).

You do not need to know which source you need. You ask in plain English, ChatGPT picks one, queries it and tells you where the answer came from.

## Step 1: create your account

Create your account at [platform.usecroma.com/sign-up](https://platform.usecroma.com/sign-up). You land on the free plan automatically, which is more than enough to try it out.

## Step 2: accept the terms

Accept the terms and conditions in the MCP section of the [dashboard](https://platform.usecroma.com/sign-in). That is where Croma hands you the details you need for the connection.

## Step 3: add the connector

In ChatGPT open the *+* menu in the chat, go to *Apps and connectors* and click *Connect apps*. From there you create a new one and fill the form with these two values.

Leave authentication on *OAuth*, tick the *I understand and want to continue* checkbox and click *Create*.

## Step 4: authorize

Click *Sign in with Croma* and a Croma screen opens. Hit *Allow* and ChatGPT gets permission to query with your account.

## Step 5: try it

In a new chat.

If it answers with Space Exploration Technologies and what it raised in each round, you are done. If you do not see the tools, open another chat.
